Unlike rankings based purely on Google reviews, our verification process includes direct clinic visits, doctor license verification (PRC online database), product audit (requesting to see injectable packaging and lot numbers), and patient interview.
Only clinics that pass all four verification checkpoints are listed here. We reject clinics with unverified doctors, unregistered products, or that decline to show credentials when asked.
Verification is conducted annually, with spot checks. Clinics that lose accreditation or receive credible safety complaints are immediately removed.
Verification Criteria
- Doctor Credentials: Active PRC license, board certification (PDS for dermatologists, PCS for surgeons), and post-graduate aesthetic training
- Product Authenticity: Injectables must be authorized brands (Allergan, Galderma, Merz) with visible lot numbers on packaging
- Equipment: Laser devices must be FDA-registered and regularly maintained by certified technicians
- Facility Standards: Clean, clinical environment; proper sharps disposal; temperature-controlled storage
- Safety Record: No confirmed adverse events from counterfeit products or unqualified procedures
- Transparency: Clear pricing available before treatment; no hidden fees
Why Independent Verification Matters
Manila's aesthetic clinic market has grown explosively in the last 5 years. With growth comes risk: unlicensed practitioners, gray-market botox, and social media-driven "clinics" that are essentially spas with syringes.
The Philippine FDA and DOH regulate the sector but enforcement gaps exist. Self-regulation by professional societies (Philippine Dermatological Society, Philippine Academy of Aesthetic Medicine) covers members but not all practitioners.

How Verified Clinics Differ from Unverified
The practical difference matters most when something goes wrong. Verified clinics carry professional liability insurance, have documented treatment protocols, and employ doctors who can legally manage complications.
Unverified clinics — often marketed aggressively on social media with dramatic before/after results — may produce good outcomes most of the time but have no safety net when complications occur.
The Philippine Medical Association has documented cases of facial nerve damage from botox administered by unqualified practitioners, and vascular occlusion from fillers injected by non-doctors. These events are rare but devastating when they occur.
